Letters to Juliet.

hi people!

i'm in a flying dancing twirling running rolling laughing smiling mood right now because of the movie Letters to Juliet. yeahh its a love story and yeahh i'm not so hati kering but hey i'm a girl i can be all swoony if i want myahaha.

well, this story revolves around a writer wannabe, Sophie, who thinks she's happily engaged to a most annoying chef, Victor. but that remains to be seen because they practically don't have the charms most soon-to-be newlyweds have. so, they took a trip to the wonderfully romantic city of Verona, famous for its Romeo and Juliet setting, for a pre-wedding honeymoon because Victor will be too busy handling his newly opened restaurant after the wedding. like, you no good, Victor!

what happened in Verona was, Sophie met four charming ladies who answer questions that women from all over the world wrote to them. what these women did was wrote the letter and stick it on the wall of a building resembling the courtyard of Juliet where Romeo first met her.

this wall.

yeah, like that.

so, to cut a long story short, Sophie decided to help them. and that magic moment appeared when Sophie accidentally found a letter hidden inside one of the wall. yes, inside the wall. it was a letter written almost fifty years a go by a girl named Claire who had some trouble concerning her love life. so, Sophie decided to reply the letter and tadaa soon she met Claire and her drop dead gorgeous grandson, Charlie,  and soon the three of them were off to a journey of searching for Claire's true love, Lorenzo Bertolini. dashing name by the way. hiks.

of course, Claire met her true love and they get married, and Sophie and Charlie fall in love in the process and they get together in the end. per expected lahh kann.. but what i would like to highlight in this story is the determination and hope that these characters have when it comes to love. of course lahh not many have the chance to experience this fairy tale love story but one does not give up hope, you see?

the letter which Sophie wrote to Claire was very deep and meaningful that i couldn't help but...cry. okay, just a few drops of tears but never mind lahh i'm a hopeless romantic what can i do? hewhewhew.

here's what Sophie replied to Claire :

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Claire,

"What" and "If" are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if? I don't know how your story ended but if what you felt then was true love, then it's never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn't it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart.

I don't know what a love like Juliet's feels like - love to leave loved ones for, love to cross oceans for but I'd like to believe if I ever were to feel it, that I will have the courage to seize it. And, Claire, if you didn't, I hope one day that you will.

All my love,

 Juliet

yes, i know. i'm a hopeless romantic. gahhh

its amazing how Claire still hold on to her feeling after all those years. how can one sustain love for so long? it seems impossible since Claire did not get to be with her true love in the first place and the fact that she never give up hope is so...enchanting. i get so many quotes that kinda slap me in the face because some part of me is a skeptical goon and i'm no risk taker when it comes to love. if i don't see any convincing prospect, i won't be brave enough to go on. why i lack motivation i also don't know liao i'm just very vain and egoistic perhaps? i think i am more like Charlie, skeptical and straight cut defensive when it concerns matters of the heart. but in the end even Charlie fallen for Sophie.

on the other hand, Claire and Lorenzo is just sooooo romantic together! i hope i shall grow old and still have that sparkle like both of them. i told you, i'm a hopeless romantic alright.

in the meantime, there's life that we have to deal with, as quoted by Claire, 'Life is the messy bit'.

see what i'm seeing? hehehe

Lorenzo and Claire. sighh...

oh, by the way, i'm falling in love with Tuscany! its like, i wanna have honeymoon there and settle down there. yeah, like that! loveeee the scenery so much!

now where is my letter?

toodles.
