This is the story about TFTN

have you ever heard of Teach For The Needs (TFTN)?

TFTN is a non-government organization that aims to help the less fortunate, namely the orphans, all over the country through means of education. at TFTN, we believe that each and every child have the potential to be their own individual and are capable of achieving greater heights in their life when they are given the chance to shine out from their own obstacles. basically what we do in TFTN is that we work together, free will, to help discover and levitate the potentials that each child have in themselves. more so, in TFTN, we focus on doing so to the orphans simply because they are the majority of kids who are given such lavish endowement yet so little care and attention that they actually deserve.

especially in terms of educational attention.

for more info, you can visit their website http://teachfortheneeds.org/ to find out more about this organization.

i am glad to introduce our TFTN BP Crew which has been pioneered by none other than the few crazy heads of my colleague, Nurul Azwa Muhammad Noor, Mohd Syukri Sapuan, and the ever eccentric Zunnurain Fahmi Md Sadakah. these three gladiators has decided to put their feet forward and go through what seems to be an incredibly difficult task at first. but i believe that if we set out to do something with a good intention, God will help us pull through.

with that, TFTN BP Crew was established firmly in the year 2014 with a strong 32 volunteers consisting of various students from different options in IPTHO. we starts our first project in the Batu Pahat Orphanage where we teach the students ranging from Form One to Three a little bit of everything including their academics, social and spiritual needs. despite all the obstacles that we had to endure, we are glad to say that our journey bear its first fruit through the warmth and joy smiles shown across the children's faces when they meet us.

it is important to note that TFTN BP Crew is an NGO and we did not receive any payment from any individuals, association or political party to carry out our intention. we stand on our own, work on our own, and try to provide what is needed for the children in order to help them discover their potentials and levitate themselves for the greater good of their own.

we are currently running on good hands with a systematic formalities and arrangement with fixed schedule and manpower to keep things smooth. good cooperation from the orphanage also helps us in making sure that we can do our part as best as we could at all time.

we hope that with the establishment of TFTN BP Crew, more chances are given towards the orphans to help them spread their wing for the greater good of themselves.

Pirate Oddblogger ahoy!

howdy ye sailing mermaids!

'ere pirate Oddblogger speakin'
with wits and whey and pranks
surviving her days of plenty campin'
full of sand and merry friends

howdy ye pirates be at ready
today we shall board them ol' bus
pack ye sack and ye dusty teddy
and drag ye friends from dreamy dust

here we gather hand in hand
to face four days off shore
home is far from Pirate Sand
three blinking nights to go

O first pull we set up them tents
to rest our sore limbs pray
divided we maybe these clans
but us Scouts pull them grey

first night the stars shine bright south
as we knock and pull those ropes
with merry smile and great loud mouth
the Scout shall live with hopes

blazin' day stretch our brains out
as we start our campin' day
in this small world of  crazy Scout
with rattling gadgets on display

what snooze and drool we hung ourselves
of dullest Captain's  speech
as second day stretch with boredom on shelves
a longing for ye sandy beach

third day the sun burns across shore
marks our adventure calls
with sunburn face and much galore
we cross the jungle walls

O ye hungry pirates tummy
spare us some salty cook
mix pots of rice and anything sandy
to fill our tummy crook

third night we gather all the vibrant clans
to sit and rest and burst to sing
clinking mugs and frying pans
off the shore of sandy Mersing

survive the camps ye pirates did
brace through those stinking toilets oy
with sweats and stains and pricky zits
ye brace them with great joy

so long now O my dear Pirate Sand
who's beauty we shall keep in chain
but come next time o' gathering clans
we hope its not here again!

pipe down ye merry Pirate Scout!

It's a kampung life #Oddbloggerstyle !

hello blogosphere!

i just got back from a community program under Iptho which is the Program Bakti Guru in collaboration/sponsorship from Suruhanjaya Pencegah Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM). basically we were acting as the secretariats of the SPRM to deliver the message regarding bribery and its bane to the society.

successfully refrain myself from bringing luggage bag ahahah!

my adopted family.

well, my family were made up of Abg Salim, Kak Aini, Kak Yah (kak aini's older sister), and their two adopted children, Raziqin and Raihan (who actually resembles abg Salim a lot!) and they live in a modest kampung house quite far from the main gathering point of our activities which is the balai raya. due to the distance, abg Salim gave us the green light to use his motorcycle as a mean of transportation for us every day. oh, my housemate/sister for this probag is a junior from the foundation RBT, Suraya. we had a lot of fun, i tell you!

there were lots of activities that we carried out either on our own or with the villagers, namely community service cleaning the schools and the mosque, as well as filling our tummy full with all the marhaban that we were invited to! all the villagers were extremely nice and accommodating regardless of the condition, and for that, all of us are absolutely thankful!

the moment we arrived in Parit Selangor, it rains cats and dogs as if it marks the meeting of the villagers with us in a most blessed way. we were given to our adopted families and after an energetic welcoming speech from the YB, we were driven to our respective houses. so off we go to the Salim's household! once we arrived, we were greeted warmly and excitedly by the family, making us feel at home already. the house was not too big, nor was it stoned all over which makes it really charming and cozy to our eyes.

enough with the words, let's go, pictures!

inside the house. i actually love this spot very much because it makes me feel like a true lady sitting with my legs close and posing in such ladylike way pffft. this is before Raihan jump at me and literally wrestle with me at the stairs! ouch my back ahahah!

we did our community service in Sekolah Agama Parit Selangor where all the ladies, RBTs especially (plus me) were given the task to change the soil of the flower pots and there we were, digging the soil out of our life while the boys walk here and there giving orders to the school kids. we were the Trojan of the day, i tell you! i feel like i'm Athena fighting the soil with the hoe! #TeacherCanDoEverything

the house with the swing and the flowers and the kampung road and the motor and the freshness of the morning and the silent of the night and the cold, freezing water and the carefree atmosphere and Ziqin ramming the motor in the evening like a pro while Raihan wrestling with us twenty times a day! i love this family!

the second day, we carry out our English Language games at the school in which i was in charge of the fourth station with my junior, Awang. basically we were making the students acting out roles from Snow White and making them hyper with jazz chant fights between Chuck Buttowski and Teddy Bear Roar! it was incredible because the kids said that they never had these kind of lesson in class before so they figuratively give all out when they do the jazz chant. well, it goes to show how the Language Arts elements were implemented in schools. unsuccessfully. hmmm.

next, welcome to the Pineapple Museum!
although my village is in Pontian, and i am a Johorean, i've never been to this museum before. *shame shame* it was quite fun because there were so many things that i learn about pineapples and the properties and the products we get from this thorny fruit. we were given free pure, hundred percent pineapple juice and free icecream to go with it. cold stuff down our throat on such a blazing hot day, ahh heaven!

Raziqin's first trip to the museum. and yes, he is from Parit Selangor ahaha such irony. i was glad his first trip to the museum was with us because it kinds of left us with a special memory with this energetic brother!

 pineapples, pineapples everywhere!

the bubbling Raihan running to and fro, pushing the swing, wrestling with us and literally make our tiredness go away in a blink with her cute frolicking! ahh i miss having a small sister. my sister is now the cool teenager who don't bother about being cute anymore hahahah!
this might sounds insane and ridiculously absurd to some but the man in the yellow shirt is actually my uncle from my father's side! he is the husband of my aunt (my father's older sister). however, because we are not really close with the family from the Bugis part, i did not know him. i only know his wife because she can speak good English and some Chinese like omigoshhh so cool, aunty! so yeah, now i have two families in Parit Selangor yay yay yay!

this was the last view on the last day. we were crying and literally hugging all our mothers because we were such a cry baby and our mothers went cry mothers too. i was so overwhelm with emotion when i hug Kak Aini and Kak Yah because they were literally so good i feel like they are my own family now. all of us were crying when we were about to bid farewell. even Abang Salim was crying but because he was so cool and macho, he put on his shade and he can pretend that we didn't see him wipe his tears from under the shades but i know he was crying so hard too because he was treating us so good all the while we stay at his house. Kak Yah even get on the bus and went to our seat and took our pictures crying in he bus ahahaha Kak Yah was so funny but so sweet despite her inability to talk. we love her so much too! Raziqin were solemn and grim because he cannot digest the fact that we must say goodbye that day. like a child, he stay away from us and didn't even smile and was controlling his tears when i say goodbye to him.

i am actually crying as i type this post oh God i wanted to go back to Parit Selangor and meet them again!
