hello Narcians~
Happy Aidilfitri to everyone celebrating it (puasa full, tak puasa full, puasa half-day, puasa-quarter day, puasa yang-yok, puasa-membuta-sampai-senja, and every kind of puasa existed lah).
Alhamdulillah, God granted me a longer life this year thus giving me the chance to have one more Aidilfitri with my family. this year marks a new transition for me as a person, indeed. the joy of having both my brothers back home for another raya is too much to handle. we were running around the house creating cahoots and whatnots with mother. but its a safe, matured, sober-adult kind of raya; no firecrackers popping in the middle of the night, no fancy kuih raya on display, not much tantrums thrown around the house. perhaps, because this will be our last raya in this house, the preparation is of the simplest kind. everyone is busy with plans to move into our new home. our very own home. hopefully by this coming New Year, we'll find ourselves in the new neighbourhood all nice and settle down.
now that my Navy brother is officially a Leftenen Madya, talks are rife about his wedding. he told me that he wish to settle down by next year and i was darn excited at the thought of our family expending soon! once Kak As become a real family, i could get my hand on delicious food a lot! hee. and then there will be tiny babies waiting to be kiss and cuddle! wee!
this raya is a blast, like always. since atok is not that well, everyone come home to be by her side. the first day of raya was such an excitement for her until she demanded Pak Usu to put up all those lanterns and stuff and insisted that they bring her out to see the lights! and all the aunts and uncle obliged by her demand. such a cute woman, my atok! hee. usually she will sleep in the afternoon but with everyone sitting with her and chat her up with every gossips and jokes, she wouldn't sleep at all! in fact she wants to sit on the wheelchair and watch the tv with her grandchildren. heehaw.
as in tradition, the second day of raya is the big gathering of the family as my cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews (and their maid) come back like the final wave of zombies. since all my cute totting nephews and nieces has grown into a much well-behaved children, i don't have to play nanny being dragged here and there anymore. i'm free to sit with the makciks and gossip and sit with the pakciks and talk intellectually. yup, that's what happened when you have this whole bunch of teachers and engineers and bankers as your family. all the grand words are spilled and pass around.
again, as tradition demanded, every grandchildren/nieces/nephews who's still studying will be eligible to get the much sorted out duit raya and the boon is on me because i'm still studying and i'm not yet 20 years old (and i'm such a small person with the label beloved grandchild stamped right across my head) so, come to mama, duit raya! kya ha ha. and i've got some really nice hunt this year. *winks*
toodles.
Yes, this is about Aidilfitri.

Overflowing Awesomness!
hey awesome!
have you ever heard of the stop-motion movie?
basically, stop-motion is a technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.all the dolls are created out of clay and plasticine to ease the repositioning process for each scene of the film. yeah, they basically move the dolls inch by inch, limb by limb for every shot and this goes on until the whole film is done. talk about being particular and detailed in this industry.
stop motion is one of the technique used in film making, especially animation, and is used a lot by the American film director, Tim Burton. Burton's work is obviously on the other end of your normal fairytale, although it carries a lot of moral values deep down in his films. most of his works are deem eccentric, dark and quirky-themed, an image he carries around with pleasure and great satisfaction. Burton usually works with the people he's comfortable around with, mainly Johnny Depp, another actor famous for his quirky roles, and Helena Bonham-Carter, his similarly eccentric spouse. in another department, Burton prefer to collaborate with fame music producer, Denny Elfman, in bringing out fantastic songs for his movies.

the genius.
in many of Burton's movies, especially his animation, we can see the usage of the stop-motion technique in his The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, James and the Giant Peach, and so many others. although there are many other directors who used stop-motion technique in their movies, none can really challenged Burton's masterpiece.

some of Burton's amazing stop-motion pieces that could still amaze the hell out of you.
once i watch this documentary on stop-motion and it amaze me on how much works you have to put in the whole process! there's this team of props people who build the dolls, background, castles, houses and everything from clay and plasticine. and when they are shooting, there will be a few people standing nearby who's job is to move the dolls. for every wave, every bend of fingers, every expression, its done manually and with much patience. and they have to move very carefully because the dolls are all so tiny in order to suit the size of the props. what a painstaking work!
these pictures will tell you how amazing stop-motion is! i mean, since Barbie, playing with dolls seems so girlish, until The Nightmare Before Christmas come knocking on your screen. hee

see the set?

he's moving the skeleton deer.

move the limbs.

the set of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

peek-a-boo, who's watching you?
there's going to be a new stop-motion movie coming out soon, ParaNorman. let's go watch it, eh peeps?
toodles.

Tango time analogy.
They said it takes two to tango. And for the purpose of having the last dance, many would rather suffer in silence in order to get the perfect steps for their dance.
I used to be the fool who believe that every pain, every suffering, every tears is vital in winning the dance floor. And I endure a great deal of challenges with my ego unwavering through all the practices and wasted time on the dance floor. But still, I am not the best dancer. At least, not yet to claim that I alone am the best conqueror of the glistening dance floor. I keep on practicing, waiting, crying and still save some hope that one day, I will be the queen of the dance floor.
But I was rigid and hard on myself, being unable to cope and accept with my own weaknesses and mistakes. I despise my mistakes, something which I consider as a wall blocking my path from the glory of my dance. I never trust anyone, not even myself at times, to deliver the best performance, the best choreograph and the best momentum. I keep my feet tightly together, counting the steps of my melody, too conscious of the mistakes that I might make. I forgot that in order to be alive in this art, I need to loosen up myself and feel the surrounding. Feel the audience, feel the music, the tap, the swirl, the flips, the movement of the dance itself.
I dance alone, forever alone, shutting everyone else out of my floor, ignoring their presence with my ego and undiminished dream to call the dance floor mine. But this is a dance. And it takes two to tango, not alone. It’s a two-dancer show, not alone. It’s a two-person floor, not alone. I realized the truth only at the end of time, just in time for another performance. Chances came knocking, hope rise from my chest, lighting up my eyes, my heart, my soul.
I found my partner. The one who’s going to tango with me, anytime, anywhere, anyhow I want. Others don’t understand the connection, the bonding I have with my tango partner. they don’t see what I see, they don’t feel what I feel. I took my partner’s hand and together we glaze the dance floor like nobody’s business at all. And it feels good. Really, really good to have this partner, to have this dance with my partner and just open up myself to a whole new feeling, a brand new experience and choreography. This time, dancing is not for sake of winning the dance floor but it is to stamp the mark that this dance is my own. No one can beat me, or snatch it away from me. I am a winner when I am with my partner. I am whole, complete in a way that no iridescent light could shine brighter than my own.
I am a dancer. And this tango is mine. So be quiet and just let me immerse in my dance.
adieu.

Another mumbling me.
hey awesome.
why do you start blogging?
to be a star blogger like Hanis Zalikha the model, Maria Elena the engineer, Fatin Liyana the doctor or perhaps, the petite financial student, Yuyu Zulaikha? or is it because you want to share every single thing about your wonderful love life, your prince charming, your Cinderella, your everything? whatever motives you have in this blogging activity, its your to choose. perhaps, you are just like me, blogging for the fun of it and simply because you can change your template now and then, unlike the forever mundane diary which bore the same design from the first page up until the last page. and diary seems fit for the little princess we used to be, isn't it? now that we are older, hip and trendy (hopefully), blogs are the new attraction.
well, i consider myself to be a full time blogger. you should have seen me, i'm always typing away in my blog but that just piles up the drafts of my entries. even when i'm in lectures, i would scribble something in my notebook about what i'm going to rant in my blog later on. but don't worry, my classes are all in English and the content of each subject is enough to give me ideas for my blogs. yeah, i'm good at multitasking sometimes, listening and writing and thinking anddaydreaming. oops. but it only concern the stuff i'm interested in.but still, i'm a blog-maniac to the fullest. i'd be extremely happy if i can blog all day long, even though sometimes i deleted the whole entry after its done due to my absurd mind refusing to give in to the content of the post.
i've said that i am a blogger first, so that practically puts me in the place of the nerdies. or is it? at first, i never give a damn care about this whole increase-traffic-you-follow-me-i-follow-you thing and just refuse to have anything to do with it. all i ever want is just to blog, blog, blog and blog. but then, my fellow blogger buddies suggest some blogs for me to read and since then i started blogwalking and following other blogs. of course, previously the only blogs that i have in my bloglist are those of my friends.
despite everything, i still am very strict when it come to following other bloggers. the reason is i prefer to choose quality over quantity and its not wrong for me to do so since i am vain and snobbish. bha ha ha. i mean, i just don't get the point of following a blog which to me, is not interesting at all. i like blogs which contains information, useful tips and advices as well as a topic which could prompt a point of discussion in my mind. i like to think so i like to read stuff that could make me think and add some senses in my brain too. once in a while, i do read those life stories but they are not my first option.
sometimes when i posted my entries in the blogger group in Facebook, there will be people who give me their link for the sake of increasing their traffic or followers. and i don't really like this kind of publicity. i will take a look at their blog and if i find it to be interesting, i will gladly follow but if the content is just....lame, i'll just ignore the blog. i have the freedom to choose my reading material so i won't be apologetic about my style. i've never ask anyone to follow my blog because, i blog for the fun of it. if you find all my ramblings are worthy of your time, thank you very much. but if not, i'm not offended at all. luckily, all the blogs that i follow are quite interesting indeed. so a big clap to the bloggers out there who make such huge effort to be so creative and committed with their blogs' appearance and content. bravo!
i don't think people really read my blog because admit it, my blog is just 'too wordy', as quoted by my lecturer, and no one likes to read such a long, long, longgg post, isn't it?except me.
yes, i'm a blogger. i love blogging long post that befuddle you eyes and mind.
peace out.
toodles.

Coffee break
hey awesome.
recently i've been preoccupied with works and tasks from the lecturers who seems to think that we should be as busy as they are. works are endless from the moment you step on that oh-so-amazing world of school. heh.
in the midst of presentations, tasks and of course, assignments, i still manage to enjoy some laughter and joyous bonding with my friends. i wouldn't survived had it not been for my dearest friends so Awa, Aty, Mia, Dia, Alia, thanks for all the rainbows you bring to my life.
i'm still searching for the meaning of certain things in life simply because its a long journey to understand human and their motives. i spend more time observing people and their behaviour that even when i'm with my friends, their actions become the subject of my observation. i think as a silent thinker, i am getting old with my thoughts.
i miss hanging out with my friends, you know, wandering around at BP Mall and just forget about works and responsibilities for a period of time to immerse in my last teen year. well, actually i can't wait to turn twenty. LOL. but then, works and examination threats seems to be the booming wall erected between us and the glorious relaxing day. why, aren't teachers supposed to be fittest of them all when it comes to mental control?
i am becoming much more quiet nowadays. i think this is due to the amount of time i spent on works and personal thoughts which makes me unable to be tactful with conversation. sometimes i found myself so strong i could take on a tiger with my energy. yet, there are days when i feel tired, old, blurry and all senses leave my nerves. sometimes i'm as fragile as a butterfly.
what i need now is a coffee break.
yes, coffee would be nice.
toodles.

My Love
My love,
take my hand and slowly kiss me
in silent night where the nightingale roams free
and sit with me for as long as i need thee
to warm my heart and let it be free
My love,
guide my steps to the ball of our romance
and dance all night towards no coming end
dancing close and in this closeness we stand
a stolen kiss worth each and every glance
My love,
hold me dear after every kiss
with each touch you give, i'm in total bliss
for you, whom my heart forever miss
a loving beat, one doubt cease
My love,
as i rose into the night
all shadows and darkest fright
you are my love, the light of my light
in your care i stay, embracing your might
My love,
no nightingale could sing our enchanted song
none can right what's impossible to be wrong
together, love, together we are strong
our love shall last, and last for long
take my hand and slowly kiss me
in silent night where the nightingale roams free
and sit with me for as long as i need thee
to warm my heart and let it be free
My love,
guide my steps to the ball of our romance
and dance all night towards no coming end
